Q: So what’s the deal: “Jammin’ Java?” Are you guys a coffee shop or a music club or what?
We do sell coffee, and we have a full menu and new bar. But Jammin’ Java is much more than just that.  We have a state of the art stage and sound system that features live music seven nights a week.  We often have two shows per night on the weekends, as well as a full lineup of children and family-oriented performers gracing the stage on weekday mornings and afternoons.

We feature national, regional and locally renowned touring artists, and are considered one of the premier spots for live music on the East Coast. Artists run the gamut from full-on rock bands to solo singer/songwriters. We’ll do fingerstyle guitar and we’ll do heavy metal bands - sometimes on the same night. With a capacity of just under 200, Jammin’ Java is an intimate place to see your favorite band or performer.  We’re extremely proud to have been named by the Washington Post as the “classiest music club” in the Washington DC area, as well as being ranked in the top 100 clubs in the world in by Pollstar Magazine.

Q: Are you on MySpace and Facebook?
Why yes we are!  Befriend us here: myspace.com/jamminjavadc and find us on Facebook here.

Q: How can I purchase tickets?
There are three ways that you can purchase tickets.  You can order tickets online at www.jamminjava.com. You can visit us in person and buy tickets at our register. You can call us at 703.255.1566 and place an order via the phone.

Q: Should I buy a ticket in advance?
We recommend buying tickets in advance for any shows that you plan to attend.  While not all shows sell out, many do, and we are unable to guarantee that tickets will be available at the door.

Q: Are there refunds or exchanges?
No, there are no refunds or exchanges for tickets.

Q: How much are tickets?
Our ticket prices vary depending on the show and the artist, but our range of prices is from $8-$30, with the majority of shows being in the $10-20 range.

Q: I ordered tickets online - now what?
You are set to go!  We have a list of all preordered tickets at the door for every show.  Please bring photo identification and the credit card you used to purchase the tickets along with you for verification the night of the show.

Q: Can I have preordered tickets mailed to me at home?
Sorry, but we do not mail out any advance ticket orders.  Tickets must be picked up at the door the night of the show.

Q: What time do shows start?
Start times are available on the Calendar page. Please double-check all start times for events to avoid confusion.

Q: When should I arrive for an evening performance?
We recommend arriving one hour before the scheduled start time of the show. Come early for dinner and drinks!

Q: It looks like there are two shows the night I’m planning on coming to Jammin’ Java.  Does my ticket get me into both?
No. If there are multiple shows on a given night, each show requires a separate ticket purchase.  We will empty Jammin’ Java of patrons from an earlier performance prior to opening the doors for a later performance.

Q: Will there be a seat available for me at the show?
Our concerts vary. For particularly crowded shows, we are largely general admission, standing room only with some very limited seating. Patrons are urged to arrive early if they hope to sit at these shows. For other acts, we will have a fully seated show, with chairs in rows that can accommodate most of the crowd. For others, we will have some tables available along with chairs. We recommend calling ahead if seating is a priority for you to check and see what the arrangement will be for that particular evening.

Q: Do I have to buy dinner or drinks at a show?
No, you don’t have to, but with food and drinks as good as ours, why wouldn’t you?

Q: Can I eat during a performance?  Do you stop serving at any point during an evening?
You’re more than welcome to eat or drink during a performance.  Our bar and menu is available throughout all evening performances; we do not stop serving at any point while Jammin’ Java is open.

Q: What is on your menu?
Our menu includes breakfast, lunch and dinner fare, including sandwiches, salads, a variety of chili, appetizers, and desserts. We also have a full service bar serving beer, wine and liquor.

Q: Can the kitchen accommodate any special dietary needs (Vegan, heart-healthy, etc)?
Yes, we will do our best to accommodate any special dietary needs.

Q: How do you get to perform at Jammin’ Java?
There are basically three performance “roles” at Jammin’ Java: Headliner, Co-headliner, and Opener. Headliners should be able to draw at least 100 people on a weeknight and at least 150 people on a weekend. Co-bills should be able to draw at least 50 people on a weeknight and at least 75 people on a weekend. Openers are generally unpaid and draw is not as much of an issue. These are not hard and fast rules, just general guidelines.

Please direct all booking inquiries to Daniel Brindley. Do not send unsolicited promo kits/CDs. E-mail correspondence is preferable to phone correspondence.

In your e-mail, please indicate how you’d fit best as a performer at Jammin’ Java (Headliner, Co-Headliner, Opener), what date(s) you are interested in, and include a link to your web site. If you have not gotten a response to an e-mail, do not send angry e-mails to Daniel. He is very busy and inundated every day. He will do everything he can to get back to you.
