Q: So what’s the deal: “Jammin Java?” Are you guys a coffee shop or a music club or what?

Jammin Java opens at 5pm daily. We have a full menu and two bars. But Jammin Java is much more than just that. We have a state of the art stage and sound system that features live music seven nights a week. We often have two shows per night on the weekends, as well as children and family-oriented performers gracing the stage on Friday mornings and select Saturday mornings. See our Calendar for more details and a full list of upcoming shows.

We feature national, regional and locally renowned touring artists, and are considered one of the premier spots for live music on the East Coast. Artists run the gamut from full-on rock bands to solo singer/songwriters. We’ll do fingerstyle guitar and we’ll do heavy metal bands – sometimes on the same night. With a capacity of 200, Jammin Java is an intimate place to see your favorite band or performer. We’re extremely proud to have been named by the Washington Post as the “classiest music club” in the Washington DC area, as well as being ranked in the top 100 clubs in the world in by Pollstar Magazine. Click here for a list of some notable past performers.

Q: Are there any age restrictions at Jammin Java?

Nope. Jammin Java is an all-ages venue all the time; however, as we do sell alcohol, please bring photo identification to any show that you plan to attend.

Q: How can I get updates regarding Jammin Java shows?

That’s easy! Just sign up for our e-mail list, which regularly updates our visitors with upcoming events. You can also become a fan on Facebook here or Twitter here.

Q: Are you hiring? How old do I have to be to work at Jammin Java?

We’re always looking for new employees for the Jammin Java team. Fill out the online application here.
Q: Are you a smoking venue?

Nope. But people can step out on to our covered porch to enjoy a cigarette if they so choose.

Q: Is there a dress code at Jammin Java?

Beyond “being dressed,” nope.

Q: Is the building handicap accessible?

Yes it is. We are wheelchair accessible. If you have other special needs or arrangements, please do not hesitate to call us in advance of the show, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Q: Can I get that cute employee’s phone number?

Only if you ask nicely…and if they feel like giving it to you.

Q: Are you on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram?

Why yes we are! Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter and Instagram.

Q: How can I purchase tickets?

There are three ways that you can purchase tickets.
You can order tickets online at jamminjava.com.
You can visit us in person after 5pm and buy tickets at our Box Office. Tickets being purchased for a future date can only be sold via credit or debit card.
Call Ticketfly at 877.987.6487 and place an order via the phone. Fees apply.

Q: Should I buy a ticket in advance?

We recommend buying tickets in advance for any shows that you plan to attend. While not all shows sell out, many do, and we are unable to guarantee that tickets will be available at the door.

Q: Are there refunds or exchanges?

There are no refunds or exchanges for tickets unless a show is canceled. If a show is postponed or rescheduled, your ticket for the original date is good for the new show. Hang on to your tickets. If you cannot attend the rescheduled date, email luke@unionstage.com and we can facilitate a refund or exchange. You have seven days from the postponement announcement to reach out and receive a refund or exchange.

Q: How much are tickets?
Our ticket prices vary depending on the show and the artist, but our range of prices is from $8-30, with the majority of shows being in the $10-20 range.

Q: I ordered tickets online – now what?

You will receive an email with a mobile formatted ticket or a pdf to print at home. Please bring your printed ticket or the mobile ticket on your phone with you and have it ready to show at the door.

Q: What time do shows start?

Start times are available on the Calendar page. Please double-check all start times for events to avoid confusion.

Q: It looks like there are two shows the night I’m planning on coming to Jammin Java. Does my ticket get me into both?

No. If there are multiple shows on a given night, each show requires a separate ticket purchase. We will empty Jammin Java of patrons from an earlier performance prior to opening the doors for a later performance.

Q: Will there be a seat available for me at the show?

You can reserve a specific seat at a table in the VIP and Premier sections. The General Admission section is either 1. all standing or 2. mostly seated with some standing. The General Admission seats are first come, first served so we recommend getting here an hour or so before showtime to be sure you get a seat.

Q: Do I have to buy dinner or drinks at a show?

No, you don’t have to, but with food and drinks as good as ours, why wouldn’t you?

Q: Can I take pictures during a performance?

Yes. Unless noted you are allowed to bring cameras to shows.

Q: Can I eat during a performance? Do you stop serving at any point during an evening?

You’re more than welcome to eat or drink during a performance. Our bar and menu is available throughout all evening performances; we do not stop serving at any point while Jammin Java is open.
